Time To Rebel

We don’t know about you, but everyone we speak to, rolls their eyes and sighs,

“It’s just been one of those weeks …”

Well, fear not. Firstly, we can reveal that today is Friday. Hooray!

Secondly, we have a few treats to get you through the day.

As ever, our favourite bit – The Friday Playlist. This week we were inspired by our interview on Wednesday with artivist Will St Leger. So we had a search for songs of protest and rebellion, and have aptly named it “Stick It To The Man“.

Tunes to turn up loud and be empowered to.

(we have noted that the playlist doesn’t always show up on the email, so if you can’t see it , click HERE to listen. )

There were a few other things that we saw and loved this week –

Slightly HYSTERICAL that Wes Anderson’s new film Moonrise Kingdom opens in 1 week

Make sure to find out when it hits a cinema near you. Not one to be missed for sure!

PoppyTalk Handmade is simply wonderful … “a monthly online arts and crafts market curated by Poppytalk to showcase, buy and sell handmade goods of emerging design talent from around the world”.

They recently released a new LOOKBOOK. Such beautiful items available.

Some of our favourites:

Let Him Sleep (Yellow Button Studio)

Nurturing Art (Shira Sela)

Letterpress Boombox (D. Sharp)

Last week The Holy Innocents included Alabama Shakes in their playlist. Wow. What a sound. We are massive fans. Brittany Howard sure has one rousing voice.

Their album Boys & Girls is definitely worth the purchase.

So there we have it. Hopefully enough treats to get you through the day.

Lots more fun coming your way next week!

As ever, we really encourage you to leave your thoughts on the blog -however brief. It always really helps to hear back from you all out there and be encouraged onwards.

happy weekend, Katie and Lisa

handsome and pretty
