Festive Tipples

Fancy impressing your guests with a little festive cocktail to accompany their mince pie?



You will need:

 1 lime, juice and zest only

3 tsp caster sugar

 1 small free-range egg

 50ml Scotch whisky

 ginger ale, to top up

The how to:

Mix together the lime juice and zest and caster sugar in a small bowl. Set aside for an hour before using.

 To make the cocktail, place the egg, whisky and one tablespoon of the lime mixture into a cocktail shaker.

Top up with ice cubes and shake well.

Strain into a a highball glass and top up with ginger ale.



And for the non drinkers and designated drivers amongst us …



For 6 you will need:

1/4 cup Ginger Syrup

4 1/2 cups sparkling apple juice

6 cinnamon sticks

6 pieces crystallized ginger

The how to:

Place 2 tablespoons ginger syrup in each of six glasses.

Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour in sparkling apple juice, and stir to combine.

Garnish with cinnamon sticks and fresh ginger, and serve.
