chocolates and rabbits

Hello and Happy Easter handsome and pretty bunnies!

Here’s to a long weekend of treats, lie-ins, and indulgence a plenty.

Ok, to start with – don’t go buying expensive Easter eggs for friends and family … Make your own homemade chocolate delights!

You will require two simple ingredients –

135 ml double cream & 225 g of dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa solids)

(oh, and some cocoa powder for dusting)

Okay, so this pretty easy (but don’t tell anyone that).

First of all, gently heat the double cream and bring it to boiling point. Then pour it over the chocolate and stir so that it all melts.

*tip – you will find that the smaller the pieces the quicker they will melt *

Then cover the bowl and pop in the fridge for an hour or two (not too long though or it will be difficult to roll)

Spoon out enough chocolate goodness into your hand and roll into a ball. They don’t have to be perfect spheres, in fact rough edged is nice and rustic.

** you are now allowed to eat one (or two) to check standards **

Then, for presentation …

Start with a square of grease-proof paper to protect

And then choose a suitably Easter themed tissue paper – we have gone for a playful yellow and white one, teamed with yellow ribbon

And, hey presto! The perfect little scrumptious Homemade Easter Treat!

Yum, Yum, and then some more Yum

And now for some more Easter goodness, strictly bunnies only:
